We understand that it may be hard to watch a loved one reach a point where the support they need extends beyond what they can do for themselves and the help you can offer them.
No matter how you’re feeling, we hope to offer a sense of relief by telling you we will care for the person you love in a way that recognises who they are, supports their independence, and grants them the dignity to continue being themselves, always.

For Millie, a senior nurse who spent 42 years caring for others, home care services with Serene Care Jersey means finding a mousse cake for her birthday—the only thing she can still swallow—so she can be a part of her own celebration.
For Vera, a woman who fought for her independence through decades of heart failure, home care services with Serene Care Jersey includes visiting Sorel Point—wrapped in blankets and wheeled out under the stars no matter the weather—because that is where she and her husband would walk their dogs and one of her favorite places in the world.

"Mums mental health and quality of life has improved through the care she receives as the staff always endeavour to listen, understand, and therefore are able to give personalised care. They go out of their way to ensure Mum is cared for in a friendly and positive way. It’s so reassuring to know that Mum is in safe hands and receiving the right care to support her health and wellbeing. We feel so fortunate to have Serene Care providing Mum’s care."

"From the first conversation I had with Derek Ruth, Manager of Serene Care, I received such compassion and kindness. I was in a very difficult predicament when I first made contact with Derek and he was incredibly supportive and understanding, coming to meet me within 24 hours of making contact and reassuring me that he would do all he could do ensure I would have care in place as needed. He respected my wishes with regards to my needs and at all times treated me with kindness and dignity. "

"Derek was inspirational from the start. He has a person-centred attitude, and this was reflected in practice. Everything about me was considered, and support put in action to provide personal care. I was impressed by the organisational skills of Serene Care and their Manager throughout my stay in Jersey. I trusted implicitly the integrity of Mr Ruth and his staff from the outset."

"Having the support of Serene Care has allowed family to have quality time with their Dad without being called on for support, which has been absolutely life changing. I feel we couldn’t ask for more than what Derek and his team are doing. We’re extremely pleasure with the kindness, consideration, and professionalism of the care Dad is receiving."

"‘Thank you’ seems insufficient for the dedication and support hat all of you provided at such a difficult time. We will never forget that your suberb care enabled mum to remain at home for as long as she did. You were not only her carers but her friends and we know this meant so much to her. You will always remain in our hearts."

"It was so great to have Serene Care Jersey when we were all so vulnerable. Thank you for providing such thoughtful and respectful care of our most precious Dad and Grandfather. Without your guidance, we would have struggled to meet his final wish to die at home. It was a pleasure to get to know you."

"Because of my stroke, I had experienced the support of many carers in different environments, and I was anxious about the care I would receive on the island. However, from the beginning I was astonished by the professionalism and attention to detail by Mr Ruth and his staff. Mr Ruth has high standards of expectation of himself and his staff. It was obvious that the staff valued his experience, judgement and decisions."

"Beforehand I had felt dependent and very vulnerable. Under Serene Care I felt valued and with Mr Ruth’s can-do attitude I felt empowered to move forward physically and mentally. His guidance was empathetic and gentle and for the first time since my stroke, I felt confident to move forward with a positive attitude."

From making sure to use your favorite mug to positioning that mug on your side table the best way you can reach it, every small detail is largely important.
The little things make up the big picture of who you are, so nothing is too small to notice.
We won’t take over anything, like making breakfast, if it’s something you can and love handling yourself.
We don’t limit your independence, we support it.
When you tell us you need help reaching your back in the shower, but can get in and out on your own, we listen.
We’re here to help you as you need.
Just because Jane, a few streets over, loves an afternoon walk in the garden, doesn’t mean the same applies to you.
We take the time to get to know you so we can honour who you are, always.
